Who am I?

My journey in France: From nature to environmental protection
Hello! My name is Ombeline TUFFIER, born in April 2001 in China. I was adopted and arrived in France at the age of one. My parents live in Normandy, in the Eure department, and I grew up surrounded by nature and countryside. My childhood was marked by lush landscapes and a peaceful way of life.
My educational background has been quite traditional. In high school, I took a general sophomore year, then I oriented myself towards a first year in STAV (Science and Technology of Agronomy and Living Organisms) because I dreamed of becoming an animal caretaker, working in zoos. But after high school, choosing a BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) turned out to be complicated. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. That's when a biology teacher told me about the BTSA GPN (Management and Protection of Nature), a program I could do in alternating work-study. I was immediately attracted to it! After some research, I found a work-study position in the forestry field, where I worked for two years..

My commitment to the environment: From apprenticeship to civic service
At the end of my BTSA, I had the opportunity to complete a civic service within a CPIE (Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives). It was a very enriching experience that allowed me to develop my skills in the field of environmental awareness.
The following year, I decided to continue my studies by enrolling in a bachelor's degree in biodiversity, still in a work-study program. I found a position in a tomato greenhouse where I had to manage the environmental aspect, particularly the peatlands. It was an exciting experience, combining ecosystem management and agricultural production, and it allowed me to strengthen my knowledge while pursuing my passion for nature..
My dream of traveling: From English to adventure in the United States
Since I was little, traveling has been a part of my daily life. My parents have always been eager to show me the world. We have been fortunate to visit incredible countries like England, Italy, Croatia, Austria, and even French Polynesia. Each trip was an adventure, and I found it absolutely fascinating: discovering new countries, new cultures, meeting different people… It gave me an irresistible desire to continue exploring the world, to broaden my horizons, and to live unique experiences..
That's why, after finishing my studies, I decided to go abroad to learn English, a language that seemed essential for achieving my dream of traveling around the world. Although I started with a fairly low level (A1) and it seemed like a big challenge, I didn't let myself get discouraged. Today, here I am in my second year in the United States, with an English level that I would describe as B2-C1, strong enough to make myself understood and continue pursuing my dream of adventure around the world. !
